Hakka food, made in Downtown Kitchener
Chilli Chopsticks is a Hakka Chinese and Thai restaurant at 183 King St E, in the heart of Downtown Kitchener. We opened in November 2025 with one simple idea: serve the bold, wok-hot Indo-Chinese food people crave, made fresh to order, in a place where everyone can eat together.
Our story
Hakka Chinese, also called Indo-Chinese, was born when Chinese cooks in Kolkata started cooking with the garlic, ginger, green chilli and big sauces of India. The result is food with real flavour and real heat: Chilli Chicken, Manchurian, Hakka Noodles, crispy starters and, of course, momos.
It is food our team loves, and we wanted Downtown Kitchener to have a place that does it properly. Every dish is cooked in the wok when you order it, sauces are made in our kitchen, and you choose how spicy you want it, from mild to extra spicy. Alongside the Hakka menu we cook Thai favourites like Green and Red Curry, so there is something for every taste at the table.
